O trabalho surgiu no seguimento da extensa pesquisa que o artista fez sobre as esculturas p\u00fablicas de Lisboa, cuja \u00faltima materializa\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 a s\u00e9rie online <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Adventurous Lives of Lisbon Statues<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Esta explora a hist\u00f3ria de algumas das est\u00e1tuas nas ruas de Lisboa, reposicionando-as e refletindo sobre o significado da sua disposi\u00e7\u00e3o. Na altura do lan\u00e7amento dos primeiros epis\u00f3dios, iniciou-se em Portugal uma pol\u00e9mica em torno das palavras de um pol\u00edtico, que parecia defender a remo\u00e7\u00e3o de um importante monumento aos &#8220;Descobrimentos&#8221; portugueses (as fa\u00e7anhas e explora\u00e7\u00f5es coloniais realizadas durante os s\u00e9culos XV e XVI). O trabalho de Brison explora o leque de sentimentos populares sobre o papel de Portugal como colonizador de v\u00e1rias partes do mundo, mas tamb\u00e9m sobre o pr\u00f3prio monumento aos Descobrimentos, como um exemplo perfeito de como a ditadura do Estado Novo, em meados do s\u00e9culo XX, tentou inspirar sentimentos nacionalistas.
